2005-04-28 - 3:33 p.m. - still recovering, still busy

Sorry I havn't updated anything since I got back. I'm finishing up my last week of school, finals next week, finished my internet class, and making alot of decisions and such. That and I'm still recovering from this weekend. Had a blast! I'm still collecting my thoughts though so I'll put some summaries and updates this weekend. In the meantime, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy this weekend. I might be seeing the midnight premier, I was kinda suprised though it gets a midnight premier, but either was I'M SEEING IT!!! You should too! And bring your towel.

2005-04-16 - 6:08 a.m. - pre-Star Wars Celebration 3

Busy, busy, BUSY!!! I can't express that enough. Probably without a doubt the bigest convention experience (or Star Wars experience) of my life is about to happen in a week. Star Wars Celebration 3, in Indy. An experience of a lifetime that I've been waiting for since the first celebration 6 years ago. I knew I'd be closer by now, living in Tennessee. And I'd hoped I'd be in the right groups to get myself there. Well all my Star Wars dreams have come true. I'm only 6 hours away, I'm a member of a number of communities that have made all this possible for both me and the entire world, I'm a much more advanced costumer then I coud ever hope for, and I'm a member of the 501st, the Southern Outpost... the BEST DAMN group of Star Wars fans and friends I've ever known. Through them I've found friendships, companionship, love, destiny, and kindness. I'm getting teary eyes just typing this. I'm sorry, but after going through all I have to get this far, every little bit helps and means the world to me, and I wouldn't have gotten half as far without them. Okay... end mushy rant, now on to the details.

Our local group will be leaving as early as possible Thursday (some people are getting their right now already, crazy!). We'll be caravaning, including my truck! Go Bliss! Then we'll hopefully be ariving sometime mid-to-late Thursday. Then I'll join my group staying in the RV in the con parking lot, get ready for some fun, and enjoy the con. We're hoping to have a tailgate party every night after the con closes, and fun fun FUN for everyone!

Durring the weekend I'll be wearing a number of costumes (hopefully all of them at some point or another). Of cource there is my canon Royal Guard costume, as well as 3 versions of my original Rose Guard outfit. For the "Celebration at Celebration" saturday night, I'll be wearing my Twi'lek costume with a newly finished Lekku headdress (much better then the last, I SWARE!). And hopefully as well at some point over the rest of the weekend I'll wear my current inventory of 3 Padme costumes: AotC Black Corset Gown, Clone Wars Chapter 1 "Patchwork" Gown, and Cone Wars Chapter 21 "Jewel" Gown. The "Patchwork" gown will be my crowning achievement for this con, being my usual... working-on-up-to-the-last-min. costume, as well as probably my most original interpretation from an animated design. I'm working on embroidery and beading galore, as well as altering the color scheme to more blues and silvers with pink highlights. Well, atleast the hair will be recognizable :)

With everything else I've got that's not related to this con, AND this con itself, I won't be updating any of my websites untill after the con weekend. But when I get back, expect HUGE updates and revamps since this is my last con for a good while. That's right, website updates to look forward to, end of semester classes, as well as family vacation and whatever else the summer will hold for me. I said it before and I'll say it again... 2005 is a damn good year!

2005-04-07 - 3:42 a.m. - Birthday aftermath

Finally recooperated from this weekend, I think, although alergies are starting to hit me hard. That time of year I guess. Oh man though, this had to have been the best birthday of my life, and I have the 501st to completely thank for that. The took me with them to a small con on the other side of the state, and made me feel like everybody's best friend. Not that I'm not already, but it just makes my heart soar when people outreach and make me feel like that. I actually cried in front of everybody, I was just that happy. And since it was a star wars event, I'll be posting some pics on my RoseGuard site soon.

First I need to get outta Kentucky. Helped out a friend kick her no-good boyfriend out of the house and I've been up here with her since then, gettin his stuff ready for him to take it outta here with him. It's still a blur, but every time I help a friend out in a situation like it, it's like a part of me I've rarely ever seen leaps out and comes this close to ripping someone's throat out. We coulda seriously been hurt, but that side of me came out and he didn't touch her the entire time he was here. Thank goodness for tazers that were banned in the 80's. Heh, I promise I'm ok though, and so is she. And once his stuff is gone, that whole thing is all over.

And now I must keep the alergies from putting me in bed for longer then I should be, so excuse me while I tell nature off.

2005-04-01 - 4:35 a.m. - No foolin...

My birthday is only 23 hours long this sunday. (Don't forget to turn your clocks back.) I don't mind though, because this whole weekend is going to be a celebration. Just so happens a small con is going on, and the group is taking me and helping me celebrate. I'm very VERY happy right now, you just don't know how happy, I sware! Heh, little inside Star Wars joke there. Anywho, I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to my 21st year, and hello to my 22nd. Not much of a difference, just even better then before.

Now that I've gotten through the mushy stuff... I've done some updating. Some updates on my Costume Site and Royal Guard sites. And there'll be some more updates after this weekend, and something more even for this site as well. I'm thinking of doing some overhaul and altering once again on my sites, but that'll be a little ways down the road.
