That's it! No more html for me untill waaay after Dragoncon! Sheeshers... took me forever, but I FINALLY updated ALL of my fanlistings to the left there. Added all the ones I've been meaning to add and changeing the links that have been moved or re-made. There are some broken links, but they're only temporary untill someone updates their own sites. I'm just going to leave the broken ones up, they img and message still gives it it's point: why I like it. No more fanlistings for a while! Not for me. Well, atleast untill I think of one I've missed.
Also added my weather thingy I found way back when to the page. So you can see how cold or hot I am :)
My mom's cat was fixed yesterday. She's doing ok, but my sleep schedule got screwed up taking care of her. Well, it wasn't all her fault. I got caught up in the drama of men's olympic gymnastics. Who knew stupid judges could cause so much trouble... and I'm in love with the Hamm twins. They're so cute and poor Paul deserves every one of his medals. I wish people would just leave him alone! And Morgan has been eclipsed by this whole thing, no ones paying much attention to him. You go boys, you go!
So anyway, still havn't gotten a call back from Toys-r-us. It's actually not so bad I guess, cuse there are other options. It's just that I've only had one job in my life that didn't hire me cuse of "name-dropping", and not that there's anything wrong with it, but I was holding out atleast for getting one on my own this time. Oh well, I should be thankful people are offering to help and just let it be. I think that's what I'll do! *waits patiently one more day for a call back*

2004-08-23 - 9:51 p.m. - updated layout
Well... the page isn't alligned like I'd prefer, but it's the best it's gonna get. Par my dad's sugestion, I've added both the IBC counter and a tag board perminately to my site.
I've been meaning to add the Iraq Body Count-counter for a while now, but I couldn't get the html quite right without throwing off the page. But now I've got it to work, so there :p This is very important to me actually. You hear all the time about soldires being killed in the Iraq operations, which is important, but do you ever hear about the civilian deaths? This website that hosts the counter keeps a up to the min tally of ALL people killed in Iraq. Pay attention people, this isn't right!
And on a happier note, I've been getting so much traffic lately, I thought I'd add this so people that stop by can say a word or two if they like. So an open invitation to anyone stopping by, feel free to say hi :)

2004-08-21 - 2:51 a.m. - beauty in the breakdown
So my dad will be in town tomorrow and I will probably be busy for a while and I thought it was beyond time for an update so here it is:
Made my friend Angela a costume this week for Dragoncon. All I really did was the bodice and the cape. She'll be making the extensive jewlry which complete the costume. She's gonna be hot Hot HOT! Can't wait to get some pics of her at the con. Now I just gotta get mine done.
Had an interview at ToysRus. It was my number one choice and they're the only ones who called me back that I've applied to. The interview went really really well. They said it would take 4 days to a week for the background check to go through, then I'll get a call back. I need a job NOW, but hey, it'll be worth the wait. I just hope they don't mind the whole Dragoncon thing only a few weeks after I start.
Chompin on the bit for school to start, but not too eager. I was watching the olympics and archery came on. Made me a litte sad that archery ended up being full, but hey, there's always next year. Besides, I couldn't afford the supplies this year anyway.
And finally... got a happy suprise early this week when I learned "Garden State" got a 600 theatre expansion, and my local art theatre was one of them. So ofcource I had to see it on opening day. WOW! I knew it. A new movie for my soul. Ok... a little explaining here:
In my life, there have been very few movies that have touched me in such a special way that I call it one of "my soul movies". These are movies that make me laugh, cry, and feel such a connection to that I can't stand not watching this movie. First it was "Enemy Mine" with Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. Always was and always will be my ultimate and all time favorite movie. If more people watched it, it could change the world! When I was young it was "A Little Princess" (1995). That movie made me ball so much. Then just earlier this year, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Masterpiece to me, with such a story and meaning. The acting as well, superbe.
So when I learned about "Garden State", I knew I had to see it to believe it. And it's true. It is truly an art film masterpiece. Zach Braff is a talent beyond the talented. Story, visuals, acting. I laughed and cried in a packed house. It was truly beautiful. It touched my soul. Onward and upward, as they say.

2004-08-15 - 12:32 a.m. - A change of view...
I've temporarily changed the banner of the site for a very special reason: Alien vs. Predator rocks! It's short, sweet, and to the point.
Now I will admit I went into the theater with preconceive notions of "this is going to suck", and I have to say that there were points here and there (mostly as a result of insane editing for time) that to me were "suck". However... so much of this movie surprised, satisfied and entertained me, that I have to spread the word. Go see AVP!
I am a huuuuuge Alien (and Giger) fan. I love Predator too, but only really enough to appreciate the AVP franchise more then Predators alone. But the elements that I held so dear to my heart of both the separate and combined series, was represented to me on screen in the way that it was... Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Amazing, beautiful, well thought out! This movie even made me mad at myself for hating then liking a character. WTF?!?
I so wana post spoilers, but I shall not! You have to see it. But I guarantee you, "Alien" fans, "Predator" fans, AND "Alien/Predator" fans will all have something in this film to satisfy them. And it all MAKES SENSE. The most important thing for me was it to fit in the time line, and it does folks! It really really does. That is all I shall say. Except: GO SEE AVP!!!

COMPLETELY updated my cosplay/costume site for post-otakon and pre-dragoncon! Phew! I didn't think I had done that much, but it's all done now.
I got alot of things done actually. Almost everything I wanted to get done by now is completely done. Websites, banking, school... I'm finished with EVERYTHING dealing with school untill it starts. That's a huge load off my mind. I feel like I can finally freely get a job and enjoy it cuse I'll be able to tell them my class schedule. Bunches of other stuff going on, but I'm beat and can't remember most of it. I'll post about it later and in the mean time, there's the satisfaction that my costuming site is all up to date. Weee...

2004-08-10 - 12:13 a.m. - ready for overload?
OMG! I havn't even updated my cosplay sites or worked on pics from Otakon. I've barely been home at all for the past 5 days, and I'm about to be away for the next 2! Wednesday I was running around seeing my buddy Angela, watching The Stepford Wives (great underated remake by the way, worth renting when it comes out), and seeing my man. I don't even remember what I did Thursday. Then Friday and Saturday I go to Six Flags Atlanta for the first time in my life with my man's co-worker's church group. Yes, you heard that right, I went somewhere with a church group. They were very nice and I had a great time. Spent most of the weekend with my man anyway. We rode some of the greatest coasters I've been on yet! Still doesn't beat Alpengiest (at night, in the rain, with no other passengers: makes a 1min 30sec ride last 30sec, omg!) So anyway... Get home and pass out. Then Sunday I leave with my mom for my G-ma's house. Yay for satelite movies! We saw Barbershop 2 (not as good as the first, but it's still worth seeing). Then Monday we go to the Highland Festival in Abingdon Virginia. Antiquing and Arts'n'Crafts stuff, fun, but lots of walking.
I'm still reeling from all the running around. I HAVE to get some sleep, but I've been so net deprived, I'm catching up. So I smashed my right big toe at Otakon, and I noticed yesterday that the "blood blister" under the nail was getting bigger and bigger, and (tmi here) things were "swimming" around. Aaanyway, won't get into the icky details, but I drilled a hole to releave the pressure so it wouldn't push off my entire toe nail... Well, bad idea. Now my toe is killing me! And I've got more walking to do, ARG!
I've got about 20 things to do in the next 2 days, but I'll get them done! After that; including school stuff, job stuff, convention stuff, personal and friend stuff; I'll finally be able to relax and enjoy myself when school and Dragoncon rolls around at the end of this month.
Oh, and the Olympics opening ceremonies is this Friday! I can't miss it. I'm going to miss most of my star wars fan force meeting because of it, but I AM NOT MISSING IT. It's been a silly tradition that even if I don't watch ANY of the games, I still watch the opening ceremonies, both summer and winter games. Something for me to look forward to I guess. But what makes it soooo important this year is that Bjork will be performing. I havn't seen a live performance of hers in 3 years. Gonna be soooo worth it, I sware!
Oh, and one more thing... a little film called Garden State, with Natalie Portman, is going around in the art cinema sceen. I HAVE to see this movie. I think this movie is going to be my new soul movie. Up there with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Ok, now I'm finished. Sorry, catching up!
Oh, and I promise I'll update for post-otakon and pre-dragoncon soon... I sware.

2004-08-03 - 11:16 p.m. - return from the Otakon side
Just got back from Virginia again... and Otakon. Recap of the trip is freshly posted at my travel site.
That's all I'll say here about that, except that I really really wish I had had more time, both with my friends, and especially with my Dad, but I digress. There's always the next trip, whenever I decide to plan that one.
I'll have my costume sites updated by tomorrow, but I'll make sure and post here when that's done. Also, I've got a number of errands to do here now that I'm back in K-town. Jeez! I'm back in town with my Mom, my man, and my TN friends. I'm still soaking in all that just happened, let alone where I am now. Phew... I need a nap.
