2003-12-29 - 4:59 p.m. - riddick
Gd mofo a-holes! Ahem, sorry had to get that out. I'm having problems with viruses and such. I think I'll just back everything up and reinstall my age old "Win98se". I know, I know, it's old and out of date. But you know what, it works, and I know how to work it like the back of my hand. How many people with all their updated operating systems can say that? :p Well, I love it, and untill it dies on me, I'm sticking to it. No use converting me cuse it won't work. Speaking of converting... Seen the new "Chronicles of Riddick" movie trailer? Mmmhmm... Well ya should. Ok, here's some geek triva for ya. The writers/creators/director of Pitch Black originally wrote 5 stories/screenplays all centered around Richard B. Riddick, a bad ass convict with the ability to see in the dark (which he got by a botch prison doctor in the first story) and limited memories of his origins. Each being set at different science fiction scales, but all leading to the final installment in the series. Well after the unexpected success of "Pitch Black", the second in the stories' series, they got the means to make the continuing 2 to 3 (depending on how well ‘cronicles’ does) more of the installments into films. This next film is definitely number 3, with some information from story 4 smushed in just incase the other 2 are not made. However, if ‘chronicles’ gets really-really good numbers, then the 4th story (3rd movie) will be a bridge to the 5th story(4th film) completely centered around Riddick and his origins. Confused yet? The first story, which is confirmed as not going to made theatrically, is in a hinted at in a special I've seen once that was limited/cheep footage that wasn't very cinematic and laced into clips made for the "making of pitch black" which originally aired on SciFi channel a few times (I have no idea how to find it now). It was also hinted at and bridged to the movie in a flash toon I think that's still on the original"Pitch Black" film website's cache page. But on the original page, they've "sabotaged it" so that instead you get a little quick history lesson before the actual second film comes out. It's got some great giger-esqu immagery (yummy) here at the original "Pitch Black Website" Oh, and here's the trailer if your still interested after all that rant. Chronicles of Riddick Trailer Current Mood: *wink, wink*
2003-12-28 - 1:31 a.m. - stressed
It's just now sinking in that there's always some slim chance that I may not be going to school this year. Uhg, I thought I was through being stressed. I mean, it's a very very small if at all possability, but it's still there. Oh well, everything will be fine. Annoying optimism kicking in, taking effect, killing the mad air. Yay! Almost new years, then lost more to look forward to. Conventions, Oscars, Concerts, School. I can't wait! Oh, I wanted to share this wonderful artist... Her name is Jessica Galbreth and she's one of my newest favorite fantasy artists.
 Current Mood: stressed and sleepy
2003-12-26 - 3:44 p.m. - crunching and crushing
Well... it's the day after xmas. Had a great 2 days. Now everything almost back to normal, I'm back to my geekdom on the internet. I wouldn't have it any other way. On the scifi portal page, I had to get rid of the twin leia's in gold bikini pic cuse it was a "star wars hyperspace" picture, meaning it should only be avaliable to hyperspace members and non subscribing people should see it. I was informed just now that starwars.com's legaleese has been cracking down on posted hyperspace pictures outside their pay website. Concider yourself lucky if you don't have a membership and already saw it. In it's place, I have posted a certain pic I've had for years, since episode one actually. It's got to be one of the best tabloid pics ever! Be sure and drag your cursor over the pic and read the caption. Poor Natalie. Current Mood: i'm crushing your head
2003-12-23 - 11:01 p.m. - closer to bliss
Well... I got a flash from the past tonight! A certain someone who means the world to me IMed me with his phone number. However, my poor computer which is riddled with virus problems crashed the window and I lost his number before I could write it down. It's ok though, I atleast remember his email, I can get it that way. And I thought I missed my Dark Muffin compatriates... I havn't seen him for atleast a year if not more now, I can't even remember the last time I saw him. My beloved Matt. It's been a good week now. I've gotten in better touch with the other Muffins, bonded greatly with the local Lord of the Rings fans, and got word from my (plutonic)soul mate. Yay! Happy Days! Happy Hollidays! Current Mood: in the spirit of things
2003-12-22 - 7:19 p.m. - happy days
Well, thar be cats heare! Six instead of the usual 4 to be exact. Dad just drove 9 hours with his kitties so they could be housed here for a week. Can't say no to cats, they're my weakness I guess. Sooo cute! Poor things are stressed out ofcource though. Oh well. They'll adjust. Hehe, but I got the bestest present all year... Dad got me a small 3D carboard display for Pirates of the Carribean! Johnny's head is life size and Orli's is almost... I love it! It's inspiring me to make pirate costumes. Aaahhh, must stop looking at it. The best news of it all is my room is clean. Haaleluijuia!Current Mood: happy girl in happy times
2003-12-21 - 8:04 p.m. - tired but wired
Well, been a long day, and it's still going... I've killed some time between cleaning by updating things about my site. I made the portals actual pictures instead of just word links, cuse I figured if I've got that many darn pictures, might as well make some more :) I added about 40 new fanlistings, some are actually organized in a somewhat order believe it or not... but otherwise they're just thrown at the bottom. I guess you'd have to go through them to find all the new ones. Still typed an individual caption for each. And I made a special tag just for the cosplay fanlisting (please don't take) cuse they just had one and it didn't make much sence to me. I'm going to take a nap now and then get back to cleaning... I gotta stay away from this darn internet! Current mood: tired but wired
2003-12-21 - 9:01 a.m. - the mall
Holy sheite! I am an idot. I should have shot myself before I even concidered going near the mall. I was almost killed in the parkinglot atleast 3 times, once just while walking. Crazy! I should have avoided the mall like the plauge. Speaking of plauge however, cuse I was in the mall in my "I'm not planning on many people seeing me today so I don't give a crap what you think of what I look like right now" clothes, I was avoided like I had the plauge. I may as well have had it, with the flu epidemic right now. Oh well, it was kinda fun actually. Anyway... LiveJournal is free now, so I went ahead and started one just so I could comment on my friends journals. I don't think I'll actually use it for a diary. I like this much better, more freedom, and I wrote the html here, but with live journal I'm forced to use the html they provide. Sucks... Sci-FiGal's LiveJournal Current Mood: a little fed up with the world, but happy
2003-12-20 - 12:52 p.m. - freakin
Oh lord! I just realized that technically I've only seen RotK once. Holly Valar(gods of middle earth)! And my self imposed rule is to see each movie 9 times. And I guess trilogy tuesday doesn't count cuse it's not a seperate rotk ticket, and the extended editions didn't count against my viewing score for fotr and ttt. Holy crap. I gotta get to the movie theatre. I'm such a wierdo and idiot, don't mind me... It's also almost xmas and I'm completely not ready. My falt though. I'll get there. And I also found out my dad's bringing his 2 cats into town to stay with us. That means 6 cats for possibly 2 weeks. Aaaahhhhh... but awww, so cute. I can't say no to kitties. Current Mood: freaking out
2003-12-19 - 9:19 p.m. - it's over
Been updating the knoxlotr website, finally... I can't believe it's happened already. But I'm so glad it doesn't have to be over. I had such a great time, and met some great and wonderful fellow fans. Happy, happy days. Oh, and the movie itself... *kiss* woooooderful!!! Everything was absolutely perfect... except for 2 things. Denethor, and the scenes I know were filmed but edited out. Two things that make me very angry! But I'll get over them, just as I got over Faramir and the edited out scenes in Two Towers. Now that all that is over, I've only got a few days for Christmas and my last min shopping. Holy crap! Current Mood: content and ready for another nap
2003-12-17 - 3:25 p.m. - post trilogy tuesday
I'm still recovering from trilogy tuesday. And I'm about to go to the Return of the King party... after that I'm going into a coma for a few days. More later... Current Mood: freakishly happy and excited
2003-12-16 - 12:18 a.m. - tomorrow trilogy day
Well, the day is apon me! Lord of the Rings Trilogy Tuesday. Gettin all the last min. stuff done. Very excited I could just scream. Oops, just did. I probably won't post tomorrow cuse I'll be so wiped out. I'm anticipating a con-day like event. Whoooohooooo!!! Current Mood: insanely excited
2003-12-15 - 6:10 a.m. - art
I'd been thinking about (among many things) my adopted projects title of "Severed Wings Concepts". Since the disolving of the origininal "SWC Website Network", I realized I didn't really have anything to show that I want that title as my own. I also thought about how I needed a new website to display my creative projects other then just cosplay. Cuse I do alot of cosplay, but my imagination can't be contained by just that. So here's the latest site: Severed Wings Concepts : The Projects Silly title, I know, but that's me all over! The portal "Art" also links to it Current Mood: creative with a capital c
2003-12-14 - 9:33 p.m. - t3
Well, just went through the T3 dvd... it was ok. I still stand by the movie though, concidering they had to "top" Cameron's original masterpieces. "There is no fate but what we make." I looove time paradoxes! Terminator series, Planet of the Apes, Back to the Future... any sci-fi that uses time travel to make you think. Concider it, Skynet and all of it's related technology (early terminator and hunter killer models), were themselves created from the research of the first film T-800's surviving processor. Hence the paradox of how the cycle started... hm? And of cource the whole idea of John sending his own father whos the same age if not younger then him to go back in time to become his father (freaky!). I love being a sci-fi fan! Current Mood: loving technology, so it will love me
2003-12-14 - 12:44 p.m. - bjork moods
Been up all morning since I heard Saddam has been captured. So of cource I've got all the news stations going back and forth between them all comparing reactions and versions of the story. I dunno why I do that, but I do *shrug*. So I'd been fuddling around online looking at other ppl's web journals/diaries, and noticed alot of the other sites have mood icons attached at the end of each entry, and seeing as my actual entries are kinda picture bare, I decided to make my own mood icons. My original moods are all croped pics from Bjork's official picture website and don't do the original's justice, so if you like them I highly recomend looking around at her site. But for my icons, I just wanted her facial expressions, the emotional exotic creature that she is (again, not obsesive, i sware! i have other things that are fictional that i'm more obsesive over). Every entry now will have one, and there are over 80 right now, so they'll be unique for a while... Current Mood: amazed with myself and the world
2003-12-13 - 8:28 p.m. - miserable failure
I think George W. Bush is a miserable failure, and you should too... There's this new web project that is making the search phrase "miserable failure" link to anything synonamous with George W. Bush. So if anyone's actually reading this and has any kind of web page or web space or web diary, I highly recomend putting G.W.'s name and miserable failure somewhere on it. Apparently it's already effective by G.W.'s biography being the first thing that comes up for the exact inquery "mizerable failure". This is hilarious, and an amazing point that it's gotten this far. Vote non-republicain in 2004, you'll thank yourself in the end! I just found it was started by the website GoogleWhack. Very hilarious site. Have fun!
2003-12-11 - 9:09 p.m. - bjork crazy
There's a special on ABC's primetime thursday tonight about the stalker that video taped himself sending a bomb to Bjork and then committing suicide. I'd known about this since it happened because I'm a fairly big Bjork fan, but I sware, I'm not that big of a fan to shave my head and all that. Crazy!
2003-12-11 - 1:50 a.m. - can't wait
What the hell... I just realized that Battlestar Galactica was only 2 parts long. Without giving anything away... aaaaaahhhhh, there should have been more. I turned on the tv thinking there would be part 3, but there wasn't. I checked online, and there's only 2. It doesn't make any sence!!! Other then that, I totally updated my cosplay site. The only thing missing is the Lord of the Rings costume pics, but thats cuse I havn't taken them yet. I can't wait for this week/end, so crazy!!! I'm going to scream, I can't take it any longer. Yaaaay!!!
2003-12-10 - 7:50 a.m. - organize fanlistings
Just added another batch of fanlistings. At this point I think organizing them in somewhat of an order would be pointless. The point of them still comes across... scroll over = learn about my interests. What could be simpler? I also added a little tribute section on the scifi portal to explain my current diary banner.
2003-12-10 - 12:56 a.m. - Battlestar
Battlestar Galactica was something introduced to me at a very young as (as was most of my scifi intros thanks to my wonderful geek of a father). I loved it from that start. It's not by any means my favorite series, but when it's on tv, I'll definitely watch it. I think by now thanks to re-runs I've seen all 13 episodes. It truly is one of the best original sci-fi tv dramas (I know many think it's a star wars rip-off, but if you actually took the time to watch the show, you'd realize it's originality immediately). Now when I heard about the 2 attempts to remake/continue the series, I was really excited, but the "bidding war" was kinda discouraging and when I found out Richard Hatch's production attempt was scraped, I was a little disheartened about the idea. And then when I heard they wouldn't even have the original Cylons, but rather make them look like humans, I freaked. The villainous red eye was probably the ultimate trademark of the series. But you know what... I've watched the first two parts already, and it's not that bad. There are human incognito Cylons, but there are also still red eyes a plenty. I still can't figure out if it's a sequel or a remake, cause each time I decide, they do or say something that makes me think otherwise. At any measure, it really is a decent tribute to a truly landmark tv series. Now one more time, I must address the originality of the first B. Galactica. Yes, it had a number of similarities to Star Wars... alien hubs, star ships made of random model kit pieces, masked enemy. However, that masked enemy is one of the most unique parts of the series. I feel that if we didn't have the Cylons, we wouldn't of had the Borg (seems redundant being Star Trek, not star wars, but the Borg was the literally the best sci-fi villain EVER created!) And the story itself, survivors of 12 colonies trying to find the 13th lost colony, with references to that colony being the lost colony of Atlantis. Makes perfect sense to me! So hurrah for Sci Fi Channel, for producing a decent tribute to a true sci-fi series.
2003-11-10 - 12:36 a.m. - i hate money
I hate money! Dealing with it sucks. I've just lost sleep for the stupidest reason of getting money back so that I can give someone else that same money. I hate it. But it has to be done. I'll feel better soon. I wonder if anyone still hiring for seasonal jobs would let me off x-mas eve. *shrug* Whatever.
2003-12-08 - 7:56 a.m. - Sabiwan
OMG! I can't believe this... Way back when (after the first time I saw "star wars: the phantom menace" to be exact) I kept thinking off and on about how there was something... missing from the story compared to what was portrayed on film. To be more exact, Obi-wan's reactions to certain things dealing with the Queen. At first I joined an ever growing group of people who belived that there was possibly a side-love story between Obi-wan and Amidala. But the more I thought about it and watched the movie, the more rediculous it became. However there was still that feeling about Obi-wan, and then I realized that it was infact all his reactions to Sabé, the handmaiden that posed as Amidala's Decoy in ep. 1. Eureka! I figured it out, and sorta "filed" it in the back of my mind, only really thinking about it when I watched ep.1 and ep.2, always getting a feeling that there was this underlying story envolving the two.
Then, at an extreeeemly accidental moment (I'm still not sure how I got there), I found this website:
The Sobiwan.com Network I can't believe it, that all these years, I wasn't the only one that had these feelings, this intuition that something was going on there. I dunno why I'm getting so much joy out of this, but I like it. I like it alot!
Oh, and I also found out for the first time (dunno why cuse this seems like something I'd already know) that Sabé was played by non-other then Keira Knightley. That's right... Elizabeth from Pirates of the Caribbean. The same Keira that is only 12 days younger then me! And apparently it was her break-out role, meaning all jobs after that were either headlining or being a leading co-star. Man, I love Star Wars!
2003-12-07 - 8:00 a.m. - goodness
Crazy is my life, crazy is me :) Been scouring the internet for old links of mine and doing my best to change them to lead here. Oh, and trying to find myself on the web too, pics and such. It's fun to find yourself casually mentioned in memories of conventions past. *sigh* I miss the muffins... Oh well, Lord of the Rings, X-mas, and new years soon. Much goodness comming.
2003-12-06 - 6:25 a.m. - altered reflections
Made major updates to my cosplay site, Altered Reflections. Still missing some pics and a few costume listings, but pretty much up to date now.

Had the first viewing party today, leading up to the future line parties. Crazy busy and crazy fun!
2003-12-05 - 4:23 a.m. - roll-over
Added the next batch of fanlistings. They're really unorganized right now, but I'll take care of that as soon as the majority of them list me as members. Untill then, enjoy the scrollin! And don't forget to roll-over. Actually, every pic on this site should have a roll-over caption, if you didn't realize that already.
2003-12-05 - 2:00 a.m. - 10th kingdom?
Just added a special picture to the sci-fi portal. It needed something and that picture was burning a hole in my hard drive, waiting to be posted somewhere. One of those that just screams "look at me!" Atleast to the guys who may be reading my page, if there are any... *sigh*
The KnoxLotR is getting better and better just as I knew it would. More people, more events, more fun! I just wish I could get a better reply from the regional regal manager. It's ok though, annoying Rosey to the rescue! (why does that line make me wana watch the 10th Kingdom? *shrug*)
2003-12-04 - 2:25 a.m. - eva mind
Well, I've decided to make myself go insane... That's right. I'm going to watch all of Eva. I've owned it for almost a year now and havn't even watched all but one episode (and death/rebirth) since I bought them. I actually have seen the entire series, but that was about 3 years ago, I think, maybe more. So after all this RotK stuff is done, I'm going to watch one episode (or more depending on my mood and time) every day. That means I should be done with it just after new years. So if anyone notices a change in my sanity by the new year, this is why :p "Neon Genesis Evangelion, the ultimate mind-f series!"
2003-12-01 - 12:12 a.m. - swc fix
Been updating my old sites to lead back to here. The memories of how I wanted the "network" to be are really pouring in, making me think about this place. I dunno if I'll ever get that network the way I want it. Oh well, this really is best for me right now. Helps me get my thoughts straight, and an easy html fix to all my html problems (meaning:taking too much time to type it all). I still own the "business title" Severed Wings Concepts though, no matter who tried to take it away from me, it's always going to be mine!
