2004-02-29 - 4:03 a.m. - sick... again!
Well, my hand is alot better now, and I'm feeling alot better now... Except I'm sick AGAIN. Uhg. This time it's a digestive thing with muscle aches. Really really bad muscle aches. It really really sucks this time though cuse I've had to cancel my Lord of the Rings Oscar Night Party because of it. Not that I had much of any RSVPs, but still. *sniff sniff* It's ok, I'll still enjoy it by myself, crossing my fingers for Peter Jackson and the gang.
I'm in the middle of updating my cosplay website finally. Should be finished within the hour after I post this... I'm also writing a review/essay about my thoughts on "The Passion of the Christ", both as a film fan and an athiest. I'll try and set up a way for people to coment on it cuse I'd really like some feedback. Look for it tomorrow or monday.
I also noticed today how I'm finally settled into my place (home, school, life) but everything else around me is changing... Abby is already getting ready to move out, and my mom is calling me almost every day now about details of her return. Life is funny that way, but I guess that's why I'm so easy to adapt to change. Although I can't say I won't miss this current design of life. Ah well... ces't la vie. Hey, I remember my french! I think...

2004-02-25 - 4:10 p.m. - ouch!
Well, I burned my right hand really really bad last night. I mean really bad, I didn't even burn myself this bad when I was working as a baker with an industrial oven. I'm typing with one hand right now. Doing everything with one hand really. My left hand, and I'm right handed. Sux! Most of the pain is gone now except for when I use it or touch things or move it too fast. The biggest thing is how stupid I feel. It was the dumbest thing I could have done and I don't want to say how I did it. Just... it was dumb. I may not post for the next few days. Takes too long to type with one hand.
2004-02-24 - 4:13 a.m. - my music
Well, I'm awake now, and in a much better mood. I'm currently downloading patches and updates to keep my Win98 operating system healthy, and looking up some new tips I didn't know but thankfully do now cuse there are actually some out there like me who have built this relationship with their Win98. It's good to us, we're good to it... it works, so we're happy. And it's cheep! No crappy $200 price tag to keep up with an out of date yet still compatable system.
But I digress... oh, I mention that also because I can't spell check this entry. Not that I normally spell check, but I've been more self-concious lately about things, and spelling is one of them. So please excuse my dislexia. See what I mean?
I wanted to talk about my music... click here to see my rant. Beware, it's long.

2004-02-23 - 10:25 p.m. - something...
So I got the comic book I've been waiting for to be able to do what I created hell dress for. I'd write more about it here, but I just updated it there, so nevermind. A little tired and hungry, since I've actually been exercising for a change. I realized we had FitTV on our digital cable and thought I'd make the most of it. I'm going to make this dress the right size and fit in it if it kills me. Well, it won't kill me, just maybe force me to make the dress a little bigger. We'll see. Hey, I remember when I used to say "we'll see" every other scentence.
Went to my old chat rooms last night, some people still there that remember me, some that don't. I guess if I actually talked more then I lurked I'd be more noticable there. But then I wouldn't be me... I lurk, then private mesage those who might have something actually interesting to talk about. Stupid room crashers. Ack, don't want to get on a rant. I need a nap.

Still havn't updated AltRefl, my cosplay site, yet. It's comming, I sware. I did however make Hell Dress a bit more presentable. Should I really call it that? I guess only time will tell, and untill then it alteast describes the context of the dress. It's Dawn's dress... when she's in HELL. Makes sence to me!
I just watched two commentaries of "Pirates of the Carribean", hehe. First of all, Johny Depp is a genious. He originally had an idea that Jack's nose would be purple and sewed on cuse it had been blown off before in some un-defined incident, and that the entire movie he'd be worried about his dead purple nose falling off again. I love that! And I also watched the commentary with Kiera Knightly talking through it... I love Kiera, still do, but you know those women in a crowded theatre that go "oh, look out!" and "uh-oh, what's going on here?" or "that is the coolest thing ever!". Well that's what she does through almost the entire thing. After you get used to it though, it's very funny. You can tell how young and facinated by the film process she is. It's quite refreshing actually to hear a commentary that's not so... technical, and rather more... unexpected. Love it! I'm never parting with my Pirates DVD. Thanks Dad!

2004-02-21 - 12:52 a.m. - daze of our lives
Interesting day... but to sum up: feeling much better. My eye is still kinda pulsing every now and then, but it's not stinging every time I blink which is good. So instead of a punctured grape, it just feels like an occasionally squeezed grape. Ick, too much info? I've also ultimately decided against the new computer. I can live with this one. It's not worth the money problems. Besides, minus all the problems I've had in the past, I've never filled all hard drive space yet. So it's all good.
I've also started a new web site / project...
Uhm... kinda hard to explain, but if you've been to my costume website and seen my future costumes list, then you'll know this has been on my mind for some time. There's a better explination on the site, but each time I update there, I'll be sure and mention it here. My masterpiece in the works, or alteast I hope. Wishful thinking atleast.

2004-02-19 - 11:10 p.m. - vision good, money bad
I can see! Haleluejiah! Eye maintenance can be frikin expencive though. But I was past due anyway. My glasses are the same as my old except the frames are my fave auburn/purple color. Love the purp! Actually it's kinda interesting cuse when I was telling the doc how my right lens has always been twice the width of my left, he went "hmm...", checked my eye with that light sliding microscope thingy and said: "Your eye is enflamed, come back for a follow up once the swelling goes down and we'll get your left eye perscription changed no charge. Aaaahh!!! My poor eye. From now on I take better care, much better care.
As for Katsucon followup, I still want to wait for more pictures to turn up before I update AltRefl, my cosplay site. Since it's still fresh in my mind I want to wait untill all my memories come back from it. Stupid bad short term memory.
Oh, and I'm definately getting a new computer, and I've got it all picked out and customized for the most for my buck (looove that c/net) the only thing is when I press the buy button I'll have to wait to be approved for the financing. This would be so much easier if I had a credit card, or even a credit history for that matter. But no worries, if it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out. I do love this computer here, and we've had lots of good times allong with the bad, it's like my old house... have to let it go. Unfortunately I can't let it go untill I have a replacement already set up. Man I hate money. Oooh, but I love me my cartoons! Excuse me while I enjoy them on the telly :) while I can acutally see them!

2004-02-17 - 10:35 p.m. - katsu return
Well I'm back. I've put a small review on my travel diary about my trip. It was soooo much fun. I just wish Katsucon wasn't the worst con-plauge carrier. It's always terrible when I come back from it. However... this was one of the best con experiences I've had and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I'll be updating my cosplay site as soon as some more pics are avaliable and I'm not as sickly... and have vision in both my eyes. I also deleted my Peter O'Toole fanlisting cuse it seems there was a mix up with the listing and someone else came first. No big deal. I don't need to be in charge of a fanlisting anyway. My other websites are enough.
I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow cuse my eye is so irritated the bloodvessels keep poping. Not pretty. I hope they don't mind me being sick too.
Oh, and I'm going to sell this computer and get a new Notebook computer instead. Long process, but it'll be worth it to update from this Win98se model. It's been good to me, but it's time to say goodbye.
That's it for now. Let me hybernate for a bit and I'll come back for more later.

2004-02-06 - 7:09 a.m. - amost gone
I'm leaving soon, so there may not be many, if any, posts here for the next week or so. However, I'll be posting a nice large entry when I'm back from visitng everybody and Katsucon. Wish me luck with weather... it has a tendancy to screw up my plans around Katsu. I'm so excited. I miss everybody so much. Weeee... Ok, enough gushing. I'll probably still have acess durring the week to the internet, but I'll just be too freakin crazy busy to do anything productive. So I'm going to post 3 fortunes instead of just one... make up for lost fortunes. Ya know.

2004-02-04 - 11:48 p.m. - then/than
Two quick things... then something a little bigger. I've added a photo portrait series to SWC: The Projects, check them out to see more details and the photos. Also, I've temporarily changed the title pic to my second banner to be more anime themed... but I'll probably change it back sometime after my trip. Just felt like a short change. Now moving on to the bigger thing:
My dad pointed out to me my tendancy to mix up "then" and "than" when I'm typing... I figured the bigger deal I make about it, the more I'll remember it when I'm doing everyday typing, so please excuse this post.
There is a great test here of just 10 questions to help you figure out your knowledge of the difference between "then" and "than". I got 8 out of 10, so I know I know it... It's just a "as I'm typing" mistake. But just for good measure, here are the proper definitions for both words:
\Then\, conj. 1. Than. [Obs.] --Spenser.
2. In that case; in consequence; as a consequence; therefore; for this reason.
If all this be so, then man has a natural freedom. --Locke.
Now, then, be all thy weighty cares away. --Dryden.
Syn: Therefore.
Usage: Then, Therefore. Both these words are used in reasoning; but therefore takes the lead, while then is rather subordinate or incidental. Therefore states reasons and draws inferences in form; then, to a great extent, takes the point as proved, and passes on to the general conclusion. ``Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God.'' --Rom. v. 1. ``So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.'' --Rom. x. 17
\Than\ ([th][a^]n), conj. [OE. than, thon, then, thanne, thonne, thenne, than, then, AS. [eth]anne, [eth]onne, [eth][ae]nne; akin to D. dan, OHG. danne, G. dann then, denn than, for, Goth. [thorn]an then, and to E. the, there, that. See That, and cf. Then.] A particle expressing comparison, used after certain adjectives and adverbs which express comparison or diversity, as more, better, other, otherwise, and the like. It is usually followed by the object compared in the nominative case. Sometimes, however, the object compared is placed in the objective case, and than is then considered by some grammarians as a preposition. Sometimes the object is expressed in a sentence, usually introduced by that; as, I would rather suffer than that you should want.
Behold, a greater than Solomon is here. --Matt. xii. 42.
Which when Beelzebub perceived, than whom, Satan except, none higher sat. --Milton.
It's wiser being good than bad; It's safer being meek than fierce; It's fitter being sane than mad. --R. Browning.
So to sum up: then = next, than = compared to

Well, almost completely filled my itenerary for my trip next week. Holy crap it's going to be crazy! But I can't wait, I'm going to explode from anticipation. So much to do, so many ppl to see, and so much fun to be had. *does a little naked happy dance* Why naked? Cuse it's more fun then with clothes. Weeeeeee!
Oh, before I forget, go to moveon.org if you're as eager as I am to get Bush out of the white house. There's alot of information there on how he's royaly screwed up the nation, and a few other things that you might want to check out. But I'm not forcing you, by any means.
I'm sorry, I just read an article about the author of the "Left Behind" series and how he's a synical manipulative peon that should be wiped out by the suposed "second comming" that he claims will take the lives of all those who aren't what he says they should be. He even condems those of his own religion that don't follow his beliefs exactly. Do these people that read his books know this? And he put war propaganda in these books so the masses buying his books wouldn't subconciously oppose the war. Man, people can be simple minded. But I digress.

2004-01-30 - 2:20 a.m. - eFortunes
Woah, noticed these entries are getting a little long lately. Wether they have a point or not, to me they can seem kinda tedius, so I've got a new addition to each entry: Daily eFortunes!
See, I have this little toy that's a digital fortune cookie. Shaped like a plastic fortune cookie, you open it up and it has a digital read out that shows one of suposedly hundreds of silly limerics, idiums, and not-quite fortunes. I've had it for about three years now and it's never repeated one, so I'm going to open it each entry and ad it to the end with the Bjork-mood. Enjoy!

2004-01-30 - 1:05 a.m. - hello february
It's a new month... February *dun-dun-dun* This month has the potential to be the best month of the year for me... or the worst depending on how I handle it... But so far so good :) As for the year, it's been great so far, and if that's any precurser to the rest of the year, then it's smooth sailing. I'm rambling as usual, don't mind me.
I've slightly updated my cosplay site... again! This time it's a bit more detailed and organized. The pages are divided the same, but they have more information on them, reference images to the original designs, links to Dark Muffin pages of performance summaries, and a small handful of new images of costumes. This is the last time I'll be changing the format of those pages... hopefully. So I an finally get to making my other sites.
Went to a youth production of "Aida" in non-musical format and strictly egyptian based costuming and set design. The format made it much more compact and straight forward then the original musical, yet just as effective in story if not more so. And the young actors were quite impressive. After the show I was introduced to producing members of the play-house and I got to volunteer my time to any future costuming needs they may need, and also gave them my cosplay webpage address. That's why I tweaked it a little today, cuse I realized that's basically my resume from now on. That's my day, now I'm finally going to bed. Yay for February!
