2005-02-22 - 4:12 p.m. - back from the week in va

I'm back and feeling soooooo good. So much good it should be illegal. I've already written and posted my con report here. There's a ton I'm forgetting but there's no way I can ever remember it all this soon afterwards. I miss everyone already. I also wish I had had more time with my Dad. But we'll get together again and all will be right with the world. I'm still floored I won Best Workmanship in my class for my costume. Makes up for not wearing my "Heroic Girl" on Sunday for very long. But anywho, I'm back and already to start getting ready for Star Wars events. I really can't say enough good about this year, it's so awsome!

2005-02-11 - 5:42 a.m. - pre-katsucon week

I'm leaving in a few hours to head back to Virginia... first to visit my dad, then to practice the skit, then to visit my friends, then to... KATSUCON!!! So far outta all the cons I've ever been to, this is still my all around favorite. The people, the setting, the fun. And I think I've put the most work into this con then any before it. My hands are almost numb actually from the unusual crafts and preperation involved (long story). But I'm ready for action! So exciting this is, yeeees!!! (Yoda moment) I think the most exciting this is I'm going to do what makes me happy, been doing what makes me happy for that matter. Costume and then show it to others. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't advanced in my craft. So that, plus being with my old friends, in good times, at good places, having fun... what more could I ask for? Oh, and an extra visit to my dad! Woot!!! Look for the next update after Katsucon... and my "week of awsome!"

2005-02-06 - 3:17 p.m. - more work, more fun

Happy Comercial Bowl day everybody. I literally have no idea who's playing, but I'm planning on checking out the comercials, it's a tradition.

More costuming has been hapening... What else, right? So, I was having trouble on some costumes that I knew would take me forever while I was putting them on, taking them off and sewing, putting them back on, taking them back off and sewing some more. So I had some cupons, I broke down and bought a dress form. This are going ALOT faster now. I'm very happy with this investment, wish I had done it sooner. Wana see?

2005-02-03 - 1:13 a.m. - NO! Just no!

Star Trek Enterprise has been officially cancelled. Startrek.com official news, they're keeping a level head about it, but I know they're upset. I'm upset. It's by no means the best Star Trek series, but it's still Star Trek to me. *cries a little*

2005-02-03 - 12:15 a.m. - new month, still truckin

New month, not much new to report. Still working on Katsucon costumes, which are actually going allong how I imagined them. It's funny because since I first started costuming, everything I imagined before I made it... never quite turned out exactly the same as I had orignally imagined. Not this time though. I guess that means I'm getting better? Well, that and I screwed up on one of the planned costumes and had to postpone it to another con. I've been really upset about it, now I'm over it, and things are going pretty well w/o. So ok then :) Maybe it was just that one costume that set me over the edge, and now I'm just right.

I'm also working on my first real major prop for on stage. It's a scythe, and it's BIG. It's definatly a new experience and a bit of an experiment at times, but I'm enjoying it. I definatly like costumes over props though, but I had to try something like this sooner or later to find that out.

Classes are going well, including the internet class. I wasn't quite clear on the scheduling for various deadlines, but after the first unit, now I'm clear... so it's all good now. Walking class isn't quite what I was expecting, but no class ever is. I still like them all, and I'm still having a great 2005. Happy February everybody!
